Flowers, flowers everywhere, what an abundant Summer

Our watering cans on the fence in the sales area make great vases, especially when we start all the main propagation at the end of July. This will be our main job for the next couple of months along with tidying the gardens and keeping the stock beds tidy. We have a lot of plants to propagate and get ready for next year and beyond.

At home the front and back gardens are full of colour and wildlife, its lovely to take the chance to sit and enjoy all our hard work over the last three years.

In the back garden at home this week. The herb border is full to bursting with herbs, annuals and veggies. Annuals in the borders are starting to flower as are all the plants in pots. It is alive with insects and literally buzzing ❤

We've planned, organised and released onto our website a series of workshops for autumn. You can book these by following the links on our nursery shop page on the website.
~ 4 spaces left on the seed workshop
~ All the other workshops are unbooked so far.
To celebrate the end of another season our last event will be a question and answer session, where you can pick Rona's brains about all things gardening and plants.

There is so much colour in the gardens and nursery at the moment, the stock beds are bursting with plants to buy and we have pots, compost and lots of lovely items in our wee shop. Plastic recycled eco pots have 20% off, a great bargain.
We are open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm
See you soon 🙂

Its that time of year already!!! Its time for the Crazy Maisie water plant sale......20% off all water plants through August.
Once they are gone they are gone, these will be the last pond plants we'll have in stock for this year 🙂

The front garden over the last week, making the most of it before the storm crashes in on Monday 🙁

This week we have all been potting and have finished off potting all the outstanding plants from last years propagation and some new stock and now it is onto a massive amount of propagation to fill all the gaps ready for next year and the year beyond. I have ordered this years bulbs so they should be arriving in the second half of august and we will be doing our very poplar pick and mix bulbs again 🧅

I have sorted out all the workshops we will be running before the close of our 2025 season. These are available to book on our website www.quercusgardenplants.co.uk
on the nursery shop page. The last one will be a Q&A with me where you can pick my brains about all things plants and gardens or just come along for a chat before ewe close for winter 👩‍💼

I can’t believe we are now into August already, how did that happen? Its another busy month as its our wedding anniversary and 8 years since we got married in the newly created herb garden here in the nursery. It’s also my birthday in the middle of the month and its on my day off so I will be having a day out somewhere. It being August also means water plants are on sale with 20% off, we like them all to go to their new homes before we close for winter and who doesn’t like a wee bargain 🐸

The gardens are looking amazing, though how they will fair in this storm is anyones guess and its always a nervous trip up to the nursery to see how it is afterwards. All we can do is keep everything crossed and hope for the best 🤞

I have been working away weeding and tidying the gardens when I get a chance and cutting back all the excess growth this year so visitors can get along paths and across the bridges, it really has been a year for outstanding growth. We do seriously need to consider some thinning out as some plantings are maturing and outgrowing their spaces, still that means plenty propagation material! 🌱

I hope you all stay safe and don’t have too much storm damage 🥰🌬🌧

In the back garden this week, fortunately everything has come through the storm in one piece, expecially my new greenhouse! A few broken branches on the climbing roses but otherwise whew!!!

Thank you Andrew and Linda for a lovely afternoon evening and lunch. Really great to catch up xx
