Winter weather and storms, wishing for Spring

Another week and it's still all about the willow :D But I did finish the first side today and am hopeful I will finish the whole thing tomorrow, yay :) Looking good in the late afternoon sun today.

The willow weaving is finished 😄 much as I love doing it , it's always good to get this big task finished and onto the next thing.....turning the compost heaps, a warm job that will get my step count up 😊
I've done a lot of thinning out this year, but this will do the fedge good going forward.

Willow is finished

Wednesday was such a mix of weathers, from freezing cold and frosty to beautiful light on the trees at sunset.

Nature is both beautiful and destructive but lets concentrate on the beautiful tonight. This time of year I’m cutting back lots of plants and sometimes it seems a shame to throw the material out. Here is a heart that I made with some cornus alba ‘Sibirica’ that I cut back in the winter garden, with some ivy twisted around. It would make a lovely valentine decoration or gift and I’ve attached it to the fence in the nursery to enjoy as I come and go. Whether its still there or not is any ones guess.

Hi everyone, we've been up to the nursery to access everything and start sorting out the damage from storm Eowyn. With only the large farm tunnel we have a loan of destroyed we are feeling very thankful. A huge thanks to David who put up with me stressing about everything and then comes in to help sort it all out. Thanks to Margaret for giving us a loan of yet another farm tunnel and helping move plants this morning in the snow, to Fiona and Isabel for all their support and who will be in soon helping move plants and of course to everyone that cheers us on, is supportive of us and
Quercus on our good and bad days. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️❤️❤️

In an effort to de-stress over the last couple of days.....Viburnum x bodnantense 'Dawn' is another favourite plant and is flowering in the garden here at home at the moment. Scented flowers through winter and wonderful deeply veined leaves through summer. A shrub worth growing.

A busy morning in the garden at home at the weekend before the rain came in, emptying the compost bins and mulching the kitchen border in the front garden. The soil is very shallow and stony in the front garden, so the more organic matter I can add to the borders the better. The bulbs are growing already and Helleborus 'Double Black' in the shade pots in the back garden is in full flower.
