Spring, its all about the Plants

Oh my goodness, the weather! We haven't been able to progress the scented garden path as the ground is just too wet. Could it have rained any more? Probably not. Snow at easter? most definitely, its not the first time. DO we need some spring sunshine and warmth, oh yes very much so. Sadly there's nout we can do about the weather but I can give you lots of colourful plants, here are some of whats looking good in the nursery gardens this week.

Anemone nemorosa 'Viridiflora'

Carex 'Ice Dance and Chionodoxa lucilliae

Euphorbia amygdaloides 'Purpurea'

Narcissus 'February Gold'

Paeonia daurica

Prunus 'Kursar'

Prunus cerasifera  pissardi 'Nigra'

Rheum palmatum v. Tanguticum

Scopolia Hlandnikiana

Simply a dandelion

Not much painting happening at the moment, so many other things needing done in th evenings, and I'm not feeling inspired at the moment which is ironic when I could do with the relaxation!

In our garden at home ❤️

Not what you want to see at the end of March

So my 3 amaryllis were supposed to be different colours 🙄🙄🙄 a pink, a white and a red. Not sure what's happened to wee stumpy on the right there 🤔

I don't think there is much of the year we are not propagating plants here in the nursery. This years propagation is well under way with all the seeds sown and germinating, last years cuttings are being potted and there are rows of cuttings back in their place already from the past few weeks. Plants in the gardens are being divided before it gets too late in the season to do so. Its all go and exciting, I love seeing those seeds germinate and fill the pots and plug trays 🙂

Another stock bed finished today 💪👌🙃🙂
I'm already running out of room, we've so many new plants to fit in 🤩
Great to see some blue skies and folks enjoying the gardens and nursery 😍
Happy Easter, the Easter eggs are all mine 🤣🤣🤣

The Wildlife pond has lots of frogspawn in it and it's starting to form wriggly tails. The sun brought a ladybird out in the herb garden. Lots of bird song, the woodpecker is active in the woods, we can hear it from the nursery and there is plenty of wee bird activity in the hedges.

First out door, post dinner Maisie Mouse ball throwing of the year and she's in trouble already.........

It was lovely to be sent this photo today of the two trees we donated last month to the Organ and Tissue Donation Committee in the Borders. They are creating a grove of trees in the grounds of Borders General Hospital to recognise the enormous gift and generosity of donors and their families, and to promote awareness of organ and tissue donation both within the NHS and in the public as a whole ❤

We had glass to take through for Jamie and Natasha's greenhouse and we managed to get it through in one piece! Maisie was supervising gardening from the warmth of the house while Natasha and I tackled some shrubs in the front garden. Great to see Betty Elizabeth and Dan who were also visiting ❤️ After Dan and Maisie Mouse nonsense she was happy to curl up with Natasha for a sleep. Thank you for a lovely day.

The weather was unexpectedly dry this afternoon, forecast for rain but it turned out dry so after a visit to the dentist and walking Maisie I got a bonus afternoon in my own garden, yay 😊 Front and back garden tidied, first cut of grass, edged and some other bits and pieces done. Really enjoyed looking at all my wee treasured plants and enjoying the spring colour. The gardens are now entering their second year and filling out nicely ❤️
