..... walks by the river, cool mornings and sunny days, warming bowls of soup and porridge for breakfast ❤ autumn. Work continues in the nursery to get all the propagation done before winter and start to get ready for closing at the end of October for Winter.
Maisie is so excited to show you all the fab bulbs we have in stock this autumn, lots of new varieties and some old favs! We are doing our very popular pick and mix bulbs again this autumn. Buy as many or as few of each variety as you need. Enough to fill a small pot or a whole collection of pots or your borders. We have a selection of Narcissus, Tulips, Alliums, Crocus, Scilla, Iris, Camassia and so much more.
We still have a
selection of plants with autumn colour, Asters just about to flower for autumn interest, dwarf conifers for evergreen winter interest and some lovely items in our wee shop, ideal as a gift for some one of yourself.
We're open 10am to 5pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
Junkshopantiques is open Friday to Sunday 10am to 4pm and
Whitmuir cafe Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm and their take away is open 7 days, 10am to 4pm.
See you soon

Mother nature is ramping up the colours for autumn, all those glorious deep reds and oranges combined with floaty grasses and seedheads, autumn is a fabulous season in the garden

In our front garden, where the colour keeps on going, I am so pleased with how this garden has come together over the past few months, especially as it was only planted up in March this year! The Nasturtiums are taking over the world, lol. I've planted some Bellis in the pots for autumn colour replacing the tired old bedding that did well through summer.

A seasonal painting - a field of cheery sunflowers |
Yellow field caps on the farm woodland walk. First appearing like a small yellow egg amongst wood chippings it soon develops a white stalk. When wet the cap is slimy, gills are pale yellow to white. Its inedible.
In the bottom terrace gardens today. I was trimming back some of the willow so I and out customers dont get whacked in the face as we walk along, especially when its been raining! All the hedges got a trim too today. Now that the bulk of the stock managment, potting and moving about is done for the season I can get on with all the outstanding tasks that need done before winter
After nearly 2 years of painting and deciding this is a hobby that's staying, I decided to upgrade from the now shabby cardboard box to something more durable with style to carry all my painting gear A lovely afternoon spent with Andrew and Linda, lots of chat and laughs and lunch. On the menu today was:
home made Falafels and red pepper dip
Slow cooked spiced chicken, za’atar roasted potatoe wedges, Smokey chick peas and a soft herb and walnut salad Orange and lemon cheesecake pots
Damp lemon and almond cake
