"August rushes by like desert rainfall

A flood of frenzied upheaval,
Expected, But still catching me unprepared.
Like a matchflame Bursting on the scene,
Heat and haze of crimson sunsets.
Like a dream Of moon and dark barely recalled,
A moment, Shadows caught in a blink.
Like a quick kiss; One wishes for more But it suddenly turns to leave,
Dragging summer away."

- Elizabeth Maua Taylor
Achillea filipendulina 'Parker's Variety'

A busy week getting the gardens, stock beds and sales area all tidied ready for Sunday. Thankfully the weather was been great so we could get everything tidied and ready, yay! 💪💪💪Tidying through the gardens every month gives me a chance to see how plants are doing, changes that might need to be made at some point and a chance to take photos. I always come back up to the office with a to do list on my phone, more photos and a handful of cuttings or seed pods to deal with 😊
Here are some photos from the bottom terrace – the wildlife garden, cornucopia garden, winter garden and topiary garden 😃

Moving up to the middle terrace and the railway garden. This garden really is at its best in August, there is so much colour and the grasses are coming into their own, adding movement and texture to the garden. Its a real bea and butterfly magnet with all the Helenium, Echinacea and alliums.

Thank you so much to everyone that came to our charity day today. The weather was great, the nursery and gardens were busy, the railway was running and we had lots of great chat with visitors.

We raised £357 for Breast Cancer Now and the Scotland's Gardens Scheme charities.

Huge thanks to David, Fiona, Isabel, Daniel and Betty, I couldn't do it without you all.

Much thanks to Whitmuir for all the cafe's hard work today and great to see Viki at Junkshopantiques back from her holiday.

It's great to work together for such great causes ♥️♥️
