"In lang, lang days o' simmer, When the clear and cloudless sky

Refuses ae weep drap o' rain

To Nature parched and dry,

The genial night, wi' balmy breath,

Gars verdue, spring anew,

An' ilka blade o' grass

Keps its ain drap o' dew." -  James Ballantine

Behind the scenes - I reached a milestone today in the mammoth stock bed tidying. The first half is now tidied, weeded, fed, top dressed, potted, labelled, sorted.
Now I start on the shade stock beds in the second half. These have been well emptied over the past four months since we re-opened in March, our customers love a shade plant. Good thing we have lots in propagation and waiting to be potted and brought out in to the stock beds.
Fiona is creating lots of new plants on a Saturday to go in the tunnels and Isabel has been potting cuttings done earlier this year. They go into the big tunnel to grow on in 9cm pots and then I am bringing over the 9cm pots of cuttings and seedlings potted this time last year to be potted and go into the stock beds!
Its an ever turning big circular production of plants ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

We were delighted to be able to supply a collection of fruit trees to Sustainable West Linton and District for their new planting up at Roamers wood in West Linton. We delivered them this morning and what a lovely spot on the edge of the village it is. Views over to the Pentlands, paths to follow, a quiet place in nature. Can't wait to go back and see the trees planted ❤️๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ

Flowers from the nursery garden. I used to cut and arrange flowers all the time, but like a lot of things I've let that go. I've been told to make time for doing things I enjoy. Not easy when there is so much to do. I know he's right (hmmm) thats annoying ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I need to cut me some slack and chill ๐Ÿ™ add that to appalling sleep at the moment and I'm the thing dragging itself across the floor to work lol ๐Ÿ˜•
There are 12 varieties in this vase, summer in a vase, the smell is amazing too!

A lovely relaxing day out last Monday across to Fife to visit Aberdour castle and its gardens. The gardens were full of summer colour, lovely against the old castle walls. We explored the ruins and the painted ceiling dating from the 17th Century. We met the Earl of Morton, once a regent of Scotland to Mary Queen of Scots son James 6th, I think he saw a fellow renegade in Maisie, lol. We enjoyed a walk around the grounds, the doocot and the maze, which I failed miserable at. We walked around to St Fillans church next door, reputed to be one of the oldest in Scotland. A short drive down to Silver sands and a walk on the beach and lunch at the cafรฉ there at Sands, a place by the sea. Great food and excellent staff, and views over the river to Edinburgh.

Can you believe I haven't done a painting for 2 months! I just haven't had the time and have been spending all those sunny evenings out working in my own garden. I have painted a shed, a fence, an arch and 2 raised beds! Lol, a different type of painting tho. It was good to get back to this, tho quite a bit rusty, hey ho. This one is of the vase of flowers I put together from the nursery gardens last night.

A couple of quick and easy sea scapes to get going again, my hands are quite sore at the moemnt, so fine detail can go a bit haywire. The picture on the right was supposed to have finer stems, hey ho ๐Ÿ™‚ Enjoyed sitting and painting again. Back to work tomorrow, seriously need to find my mojo, think its f*cked off and forgot to come back ๐Ÿ˜•

In my garden at home this week. The colours are fabulous, I'm really enjoying experimenting in this garden, its so different from the nursery garden, which is good. The first few are in the herb raised border in the back garden.
Then one of the jobs I did today - putting in a mowing strip of bricks along the edge of the raised beds to make it easier to cut the grass. They match up with the mowing strip I put round the edge of the lawn and borders. All these bricks were uncovered in various parts of the front and back garden ๐Ÿ™‚
The last 3 photos are the front garden today, again so much colour its fabulous ๐Ÿ™‚
