"That beautiful season the Summer! ......

....... Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood." - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

There is so much colour emerging in the nursery and gardens this week its hard to keep up as is the watering, its added an extra level of stress to the working day on top of our busiest time of year. But the gardens are looking beautiful and well worth a visit for some June inspiration for the garden.

Where is the time going? Its so busy and so much happening at work and in the garden at home. I have been making the most of this crazy dry weather every night to get all the painting done in the back garden. This week its the arch and starting the shed. The shed is going to take quite a few coats as the wood is badly in need of nourishment. The blue is also going to take some covering. David has made a start on the new fence that is replacing the hedge. He did more tonight but I forgot to take a photo! Lots coming into flower in the new front garden borders and the Weigelia that was here when we moved in is stunning and covered in flowers. It definitely gets to stay 😃

Hello there, I am Maisie the nursery dog, can I sell you some compost?
All in a days work when you are nursery dog, Maisie lending a hand re-stock compost today (thanks David). Another fabulous weekend, lovely customers, lots of new customers, sunshine, great chat. Lovely salad from Whitmuir cafe, thanks Sarah 🙂 Girl power on Saturday with Fiona, Isabel, Maisie and me in the nursery. Back to plant pics soon, when I've had a chance to sort some out lol. The usual mad banter with Viki Junkshopantiques, btw, lots of new galvanised items in her shop, great for planters 😉 For now I am very much looking forward to my days off. See you soon 😃

After a busy weekend, dinner in the garden and very much looking forward to 2 days off after working 14 days

A lovely lunch and afternoon with Andrew, Linda, David and Laura. Enjoying the great weather, food, wine and company in their lovely garden x

Tuesday was spent pottering around my own garden enjoying the weather. I finished painting the potting shed, finally, 5 coats! Just the windows to replace and the gutters and water butt are ordered. There is lots of colour despite a lot of the plants only being planted this year. David got more of the new fence put up and the tree surgeon was back digging out the leylandii stumps and levelling the area. Now we need a few tons of stone to make it into a parking area yay! Lots of progress, slowly by surely. We have constructed a temporary Maisie fence with the old doors lol until David finishes the fence proper.

  1. I love the new colour of your shed. And the gazebo / lounging area at your friends' garden is so lovely that it has my brain tickink. I want one like that too! And actually already have a skeleton for it... tick tick tick :-D

    1. The shed colour is such a good background for everything else in that part of the garden. Andrew and Lind have had their sitouterie for a while, they put a roof on it a couple of years ago and use it all year round now :)
