Halfway through April already, spring flowers are looking glorious, especially all the daffodils. But most days there is still a nip in the air, even though the sun is shining. The nursery gardens are really coming to life now and the plants in the sales area are changing every week as the season continues. I am working through the stock beds tidying, potting and re-labelling, its starting to look tidy. Every day more plants come out the poly tunnels so there are always new plants to buy. If you can't find what you are looking for, please ask, you never know what I've got squirreled away that's not out yet. The wildlife in the nursery is equally busy with lots of nest, tadpoles in the pond and there are lambs on the farm.

I've been making the most of the lighter nights and dry evenings at home. A lot of what we've done in the front garden has recycled materials that were already in the front and back garden, making the most of what we have on site and saving money
This border in the back garden is covered in gravel and I want to change it once we do the back garden so this gravel is being bagged up and will go into the front garden onto the new paths I've made against the house walls
Colours in the nursery garden this week, lots of wee gems breaking cover after winter, despite the snow this morning!

Meet my new neighbours on the farm at Whitmuir. Maggie and Morag are currently in the field behind the nursery enjoying the fresh spring grass.

As well as all the plants coming back to life in
the nursery and gardens, other areas of nature are getting on with spring too.
Mrs Blackbird has as she does every year chosen an inconvenient place to nest,
what id she like! Spuggies are nesting under the office roof overhang. Bluetits
are squatting in the bat box at the end of the office AGAIN and another pair
are in the bord box in the wildlife garden. I haven’t seen where the wrens are
nesting yet but they will be there somewhere. The wildlife pond is heaving with
tadpoles and there are new lambs on the farm
A lovely relaxing Monday afternoon spent with Andrew and Linda who visited for lunch. The dogs were all entertaining as always everyone enjoyed my food and lots of great chat and catching up. A walk in the evening along the river and back through the woods to finish off the day. Love the lighter evenings.

What a great day and it was my day off, yay! David was away flying all day so Maisie and I had a great day potting up all our house plants, pottering about the garden and house, enjoying having a day at home, our home. I started renovating a small table I’ve had for years and needs a freshen up, out with the spray paint. Lots of watering of plants indoors and out. A walk along the Tweed to the viaduct and then back along the other side. The garden shed has been used for storage since we moved in last summer, having got the attic usable and most of the stuff up there I can now plan my potting shed A couple of hours with the screwdriver removing all sorts of screws and stuff inside the shed and planning where everything is going to go. I need a wider bench and some new Perspex for the windows, the shed needs a paint and guttering and then I can collect the rain water for watering, so much to do, so many plans and lunch and dinner out in the garden. A fab, relaxing, pottering, planning day off No apologies for the maisie spam, she was being still enough for photos today so I took advantage
