Crazy Summer weather, new cafe food sampling and Maisie madness

Another great thing about living here, I can see the sky

These summer days just keep going, thankful to have some rain, though it is going to to take months of rain to get water levels to where they should be. I am, hopefully now catching up on blogs, nursery work and anything else that has fallen behind since packing up the house and moving. The nursery is definitely starting to look autumnal with those rich oranges and reds of flowers, berries appearing and early autumn leaf colour thanks to the hot weather we've had. We are excited to see the Whitmuir cafe re-opening this week and my partner in crime Viki at Junkshop Antiques has just been giving two filming jobs for two new series on TV! Its all go at Whitmuir.

Like her much missed predecessor Bracken, Maisie does like a bit of sunbathing in the nursery 😃 must be a russell thing, being toasty warm where she can keep an eye on everything thats going on and say hello to customers when they arrive 😎

We are always happy to delivery to your purchases to your car, sometimes with added woof and a waggy tail

Meanwhile at home there are less and less moving boxes, which can only be a good thing. We are finding homes for everything and I've been pottering in my new garden in the evenings and on my days off.

First time in 36 years of horticulture I've owned or used an electric mower instead petrol. How long d'you reckon before I cut the cable? I do have history of doing similar to a hedge cutter years ago which I've not been allowed to forget! 🙄 I d

This is a corner of the back garden I tidied and planted during the week. A quick and easy win and once the plant grow they will soften this path and step. A simple planting of 4 plants which will give interest all year round.

Wandered up to Peebles high street to do some shopping and also to buy lunch. Bought some lovely cheeses, quince jelly and olives from milne & pickles , a great local independent with lovely friendly service. Then on to another fab local shop The Fat Batard Bakery for olive and thyme sourdough loaf and biscoff donuts. Great food, great local shops ❤️ Peebles
