In the railway garden this week. This is the garden where I get to experiment with plants that need better drainage and sun. This is the only area of the garden where the soil is not solid clay and wet most of the time. So I can try Eryngium, Echinacea, Agapanthus, Patrina, Amsonia and a whole lot of interesting alliums and bulbs. I am really happy with how these borders are turning out.

Take a moment to sit amongst the flowers, listen to the birds and watch the bugs and beasties. There's no point in creating a beautiful place if you don't take time to enjoy it, this from someone who doesn't make the time
In our wildlife garden today, it's the most glorious part of the garden.
The wildflower meadow is at its peak of wonderfulness at the moment. The Ox-eye daisies, orchids, ragged robin and grasses to name a few come together to make a great place to sit, contemplate, watch the bugs and beasties and just enjoy nature
Rory has been working with us since March and has done a massive amount of work in the nursery, potting, developing gardens, weeding, shifting plants and doing lots of cuttings. he's been great company and great with customers. Now he is off to do his Phd in Pen State. He popped in last Sunday to say goodbye and we gifted him his own pair of secateurs engraved with his name. We will all miss him at Quercus and wish him the very best on his exciting new adventure.
Averaging one painting a week these days working with a negative background today.
A study of white flowers.
Monday was busy at home, packing lots of boxes, not long now until we move, suddenly time is speeding up and it is so exciting to be making this move which we've been working towards for such a long time.
A lovely meal at Francos in Peebles on Monday evening, window seat with a view across the river. Great to catch up with Adam, the usual banter between him and his Dad. Will be great to be able to walk here for dinner in the very near future
