"Come, fill the Cup, and in the Fire of Spring

The Winter Garment of Repentance fling:
The Bird of Time has but a little way To fly
and Lo! the Bird is on the Wing."
- Omar Khayyám

Looking good in the Nursery gardens this week. Lots of colour and more green every day, its such an exciting time of year in the garden as everything emerges from its winter sleep.

Sloe blossom

Scilla sibirica

Rheum palmatum v. Tanguticum

Pulmonaria 'Blue Ensign'

Prunus cerasifera  pissardi 'Nigra'

Primula elatior

Osmanthus x burkwoodii

Narcissus in the Railway garden

Muscari 'Dark eyes'

Lunaria annua 'Corfe Blue'

Euphorbia amygdaloides 'Purpurea'

Tulips, it was all going so well, I need to learn when to stop. The middle one is problematic, will leave it at that....
A week of potting, tidying stock beds, potting up seedlings, digging up and potting seedlings that have grown in the gardens. Sam, Rory and I have been busy in the gardens, nursery and polytunnels creating and maintaining lots of new and current stock for the coming year.

Chaenomeles speciosa 'Nivalis'

Recreating natural environments in the garden can be challenging, but these wood anemones are doing great in the Scottish natives border. They have even started growing in the moss on the log edge 🙂

Early Spring in a jug, slightly late editing these as the snowdrops have long gone. Corylus avellana 'Contorta', snowdrops and Narcissus.

Who else got their first cut of the grass this weekend?

Last Monday Maisie and I had a great day off starting with a walk up to the monument on top of the hill not far from home. The two cairns sit on Damhead Rig just off the the path that will eventually take you to the Yarrow Valley. Been wanting to do this for a while and it was great to get out in the hills for a walk. A short one to start to see how Maisie does, she was fine! Lol, so much energy bounding over the heather.
Home for lunch, house cleaned, back and front garden tidied, fish tank cleaned out, house plants watered. Looking forward to a more relaxing day off on Tuesday 🙂 Great to have time to potter about the house and enjoy the sunny weather.

A morning at the hair dresser, a walk from Innerleithen to Walkerburn, exploring that new walk to add to the collection and out for dinner tonight - a good day off. Back to work tomorrow for a rest 😃

Another excellent dinner at the Horseshoe celebrating Adam's impending birthday later in the week. Great food and service as always
