"May you have the gladness of Christmas which is hope........

The spirit of Christmas which is peace;

The heart of Christmas which is love."

Bridge across the Tweed

Saturday was a stunning winters day, such a blue sky. We had a lazy morning then went off for a walk along the Tweed and old railway path. Spent the rest of the afternoon putting up the outside Christmas lights, wrapping the last of the presents, making Christmas decorations and painting. Think we are about there with Christmas organisation.

Painted a wee winter scene today ❄️❄️❄️
Hoping santa is going to bring me more brushes 🤞

I've made this Christmas decoration every year for at least 20 years (seriously can't believe I can say that 😕 ) Its varied a wee bit over the years. Sometimes its been in a basket but recently I've used this plate candle holder. The smell when carving the citrus fruit and putting in the cloves is so Christmassy and relaxing. I love it.

The weekend has been about relaxing and getting the last of the Christmas organising done. We managed to get a wee walk yesterday up through the woods and the outside lights up outside the cottage. The mincemeat pies are baked and the turkey is defrosting, though the weather needs to warm up for that to happen.

Happy not happy with this one. The trees didn't turn out how I wanted them, but I'd be happy with a cosy cabin in the snow for christmas. Let me know when you spot the special feature in this painting x

A lovely meal this evening. Sad to see the Traquair Arms so quiet just before Christmas 😐

Wildflowers - a monochrome yesterday, painted with only one colour.

The Christmas cake is decorated, the mincmeat pies made, 1 dessert made out of 3 for Christmas eve / Christmas day. The shopping is done, the presents wrapped, time for a wee bailies I think.

Thistles in a corn field - who is missing those summer flowers and skies? I think this will be the last painting for a few days. After a morning of baking and cooking in preparation for the next few days I grabbed an hour to paint.
Tomorrow full scale catering commences.
