Early Summer? Still feels like March

Another busy week here in the nursery with lots of potting, propagating, planting and helping all our lovely customers with their purchases. The weather has been somewhat all over the place but at least the nights are warmer and the days a wee warmer bit too. Everything was well watered on Wednesday with some torrential rain showers on and off all day. Potting of the hundreds of seedlings in the polytunnel continues, I definitely need a polytunnel extension!

We have lots of fab new water plants in stock. Great looking marginals for boggy areas, waterlilies, oxiginators, Butomis, Caltha and Iris. We have water plant baskets in 4 sizes and aquatic compost. Whether you have a water feature in an old sink or acres of a loch, or any size of pond in between, a stream or a river then come along and chat to us about which plants would be best for your water feature

The nursery and gardens are really coming to life, every day its all a little bit greener and more flowers everywhere. Its difficult to capture in photos so why not come along and visit. Specialising in tough plants for Scottish gardens and those challenging garden areas, we're open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.

Omg what a day, Saturday was our busiest in takings and number of customers ever. Off to lie down in a darkened room with a vat of wine and brick of chocolate ðŸ˜€ðŸ¥‚🎉💖

I'm wearing this t shirt for every one of us who has been made to feel there was something or many things wrong with us, who have been on the outside looking in, the ones who were bullied, who stood on the edge of the playground not being included, those that weren't popular. Those of us who have spent a lifetime thinking they were an awful person.
Turns out we are ok, we are our unique individual selfs with strengths and character that hasn't always been appreciated. Sometimes that doesn't suit some people or it makes them dislike us. But that is their problem and issue to deal with. It has taken me 50 years to understand that and deal with it
So celebrate, you, your uniqueness, your weirdness. Being different and leading you life how you want so you can be you and be happy is, after the all the shit calms down, the BEST THING ❤
❤ STAY WEIRD PEOPLE ❤

As you know we love a bit of recycling in the nursery so I am really pleased to be stocking these pots from Ocean Plastic Pots.
Made from 100% recycled fishing nets and rope, designed and made in Scotland these pots tick lots of boxes for us 🙂 Not only that they can be recycled again thus creating a neat circle of re-use.
Oh and there's a turquoise one, and we all know the Quirky Bird Gardener loves turquoise.
Each pot comes with a match saucer and they are £15.00 each. Find them in our wee shop when you visit the nursery.

Can’t believe its another month and time for another The Boozy Book Club through the post. This month the book is “Lost Dog” by Kate Spicer, I’ve started it already. So of course there is a definite doggie theme with the cocktail by Herringbone Goldenacre called Where’s wolfie, a bone shaped biscuit by Cookie Pop Shop and a HERD Bags (made from recycled plastic bottle), there's the usual cocktail recipe bookmark, a themed music list to listen to and a gift card with a quote from the book. Love my wee monthly treat to me 😊

What a lovely day for the beach on our day off. I had something I’d ordered to pick up just outside Dunbar so we made a day of it and enjoyed a lovely walk on Belhaven beach in the sun, then parked in the town and walked down to the harbour where we had a take away lunch before walking along East Beach and back to the car. I love visiting Dunbar, it brings back many happy memories of childhood holidays spent with my Granny Peddie and Uncle Andy. We meandered home back through the back roads of East Lothian enjoying the lovely weather and views.
