Last week and the last week of 2020 was all about getting out for a walk each day, making the most of our last week off and the lovely weather. we had some snow fall over night on Saturday night and apart from Monday which was a bit gloomy and over cast the weather has been lovely. So much better than the continual wet of earlier in December. Its lovely to have some proper winter weather, it helps define the seasons for me. Although if I was having to drive to work in it and trying to get jobs done in the nursery in it I might be of a different opinion!
A beautiful snowy, winter wonderland on Sunday. A walk through the forest then back through the woods, looking magical in their dusting of snow. Snowball catching with Bracken and enjoying the quiet that snow brings. I love that silence, like there's a big blanket over the whole world.
There was still plenty snow on Monday after it froze overnight, but a very overcast and dull day after yesterday's sun and blue sky. We popped up to drop some things off at the nursery and check it was all ok then a walk along the river at Peebles on the way home.
Another local walk explored on Tuesday when we walked up to the tower in Cardrona Forest. Still a bit of snow, lovely blue sky and a good walk and much needed exercise. It was a great walk with great views along the Tweed valley, lots of paths to explore so we will be back. Then it was home for coffee and more cake.
Making the most of our last week off and the lovely weather we did another local walk through the paths of Glentress. Still lots of snow around but the paths were quiet, probably due to the travel restriction, great for us local walkers. Some great light through the trees and then home for hot chocolate and cake.
Nothing better than a hot chocolate and

Last walk of 2020, along the road from the house in the snow! What a year! What a start to a new decade. Who could have imagined! Like everyone we are glad to see the back of 2020, but it has had its positives. We've proved we can adapt personally and in our businesses to get through a difficult, unimagined situation. We've re-affirmed what is important to us, what we need and don't need. what is important and to let the lesser things go.
A great start to Hogmanay with some drinks around a bonfire with our lovely neighbours. No need to notice the falling rain and snow when you are around a roaring fire with some excellent mulled cider and good company
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and hope that 2021 is a better year for evveryone.
Take care, stay safe, keep well x
