A Wee catch up blog and our Christmas Fair

Hello, how are you all? I'm back after an amazing holiday touring around the south of England. We visited lots of amazing places that we've always wanted to see, which will no doubt feature in some blogs coming soon and we stayed in a varied collection of B&B's, more on those later too. We ate amazing food, too much and are now home quite a few pounds heavier and on a serious but sensible healthy eating plan. Bracken came too and had a great time as so many places allow dogs in now, which is great for us and him. We feel so much better for a change of scene and are fired up with lots of new ideas for the nursery and gardens.

No matter where I travel, home's always best, a view along the valley at home on our
dog walk this afternoon

Two weeks ago we set of down the east of the country, along the south coast and back up the west side. It went a bit like this:

Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal
2 days with David's parents in York
Stowe Gardens
Canterbury
Romney Marsh
Eastbourne
Beachy Head
Arundel
Winchester
Stonehenge
Cerne Abbas
Cerne Abbas Giant
Stourhead Gardens
Bath
Cheddar Gorge
Glastonbury Tor
Pendon Railway museum
White horse Hill, Uffington
Avebury Stone circle
Chedworth Roman villa
Rollright Stones
Hillers Farm shop and gardens
Visited my sister in Birmingham

Whew! We stayed with David's parents for 2 nights, a B&B in Canterbury for 2 nights, a B&B in Eastbourne, one in Winchester for 2 nights, one in Cerne Abbas for a night, we hired a cottage in Bath for four nights, a B&B near Wantage for one night and lastly a B&B in the Cotswolds for our last night. While it was great to travel around, it did get quite tiring living our suit cases and being in different beds every night or second night. But it was an interesting way of travelling and it certainly meant we got to see every thing we wanted.

It's always nice to get home after a holiday, once the washing is caught up, the mail opened and dealt with and making sure all is ok. Dan had a great time with Granny who came up to stay, she's even done lots of wee jobs and cleaned stuff for me, she's a star. We got back at midnight on Wednesday and so went along to check the nursery on Thursday morning. It was still standing, looking very wintery with many more leaves down, but happily after leaving it for two weeks all was well.
